A Silver Chime
A slender metal teaspoon caught my eye, resting across the rim of an empty ceramic teacup on the coffee table. I crept across the wooden surface, pausing to inspect its gleaming handle. Slowly, I reached out and tapped the spoon with one paw. A bright, clear chime rang out into the quiet room. My ears twitched straight up, and I held still until the vibration melted away into silence. Delighted by the sweet tone, I tapped the spoon again, leaning close to feel the tiny hum trembling through the glazed rim.
