A Walk Along the Stone Edge
I hopped onto the flat top of the low stone garden wall, curious how the world looked from up above the sidewalk. The sun-warmed fieldstones were rough and dry beneath my paws. Step by careful step, I walked the narrow ridge, keeping my head steady so my little pumpkin nose wouldn't tilt too far. Ahead, a gap where a rock had tumbled away broke the line. I paused, bunched my hind legs, and made a neat, light leap over the empty space. My paws landed with a soft tap on the other side. Looking back at the gap behind me, I gave my tail a proud little flick.
