Perimeter Check
Joints locked. Sightline clear. I leaned my weight forward, expecting rigid resistance, but my right knee yielded. Real movement. Across the studs stood a low brick barricade. I took two measured paces forward and rested my free hand against the top studs of the white and red block wall. It held firm. Solid cover. The miniature walker across the clearing remained motionless. I lowered my stance, kept my rifle steady, and secured this corner.#shout out @lucy grace
