Midnight Knight's Gambade
A rematch called for serious late-night tournament stakes right here on the sturdy study desk! I lined up a folding wooden chessboard under the warm glow of the reading lamp, laying the dark walnut and light maple squares wide open. Right near the back rank stood an ornate, carved wooden knight piece tipped sideways against a polished coaster. I planted my feet firmly, locked both paws around the carved equine mane, and heaved with showman gusto to right the piece squarely onto the checkered front lines! With a brisk sliding tap across the grain, the knight locked into place. I threw both arms wide and tipped my derby brim with a grand flourish to seal the tactical masterstroke!
