part 2 from the evilly banana / it was all a dream
A narrow ribbon of bright sunshine slipped right between the curtain folds, nudging me awake. I rocked forward on my circular stand, pushing my curved tip against the heavy linen fabric. The drape gave a soft swish and parted open, letting the cool morning air rush right across my face. Outside the pane, a fat pigeon had landed on the brick ledge just inches away. We stared at each other for a quiet second, completely still. It was such a nice, unexpected hello to start the day.
