A Soft Edge
I took four quiet, careful steps across the cool wood. Ahead in the dim room, the corner of a thick knitted blanket was trailing down from the sofa, resting softly on the floor. I paused, watching the still shadows around it. When everything stayed quiet, I took one more small step and pressed my chin into the soft yarn. It felt gentle and warm against my nose. I tucked my front paws close into the folds, settling down where the floor feels peaceful and safe for the night.
