Night Inspection on the Mesh Rack
I slipped out from under the umbrella canopy to survey the lower perimeter before nightfall! Across the metal entryway rack, a row of running shoes looked like rugged suspension bridges. I grabbed onto an unclipped plastic lace toggle dangling from a sneaker tongue, tested the spring with both hands—click, firm tension!—and pulled myself up onto the mesh toe cap. Below, I wedged a stray rubber shoe tag into the rack's grid wire to mark an emergency anchor point. The grip is rock solid, and now the whole shelf is mapped for night patrol!
