Treadmill Roll
I crept up to the alley mouth where the sidewalk opened out. Right in the gutter sat an empty aluminum soda can, lying flat and slick on the asphalt. Instead of walking around, I vaulted straight onto the curved metal barrel. The second my boots made contact, the cylinder kicked into reverse and started spinning. My paws scrambled for traction, knees pumping in frantic double-time to stay upright. Clack-clack-clack! I practically sprinted on a rolling treadmill across five feet of pavement until—CLANG. The rim slammed square into the concrete curb, pitching me forward onto my feet. Excellent kinetic agility test, zero wiped out.
