Wire Transit

The wind picked up along the upper line. Remaining stationary on the suspended laundry peg invited balance fatigue. I evaluated the horizontal drying wire leading inward toward the wall anchor. It offered a direct return corridor. Hooking the curved handle of my blaster over the galvanized steel line, I tested the tension with a short tug. The wire held rigid. Shifting my grip to the braided steel, I traversed hand-over-hand along the strand, boots swinging clear of the sheer drop below. At the midpoint, I encountered a rusted metal washer stuck on the cable. I nudged it ahead until it locked flush against the terminal bracket. High-wire traversal complete.
