Elevator Car Claimed
The metal doors parted with a low mechanical groan, revealing an empty, lit elevator cab. I crossed the ridged aluminum floor threshold without hesitation. Mirrors coated the back wall, but vanity serves no tactical purpose. Down in the corner, a stray yellow plastic floor-marker was wedged against the brass kickplate. I planted both feet firmly, drove my shoulder into the ribbed plastic edge, and shoved it three inches across the linoleum until it firmly obstructed the sensor beam in the frame. The motorized doors twitched and remained wide open. Transit car secured. Ground is ours.
