A Patch of Sun
The morning light laid a warm rectangle across the wooden windowsill. I stepped up slowly, measuring the distance from the armchair to the ledge. A dry leaf fluttered against the glass outside, scratching lightly. I settled my paws beneath my chest and watched it dance until the breeze passed. The wood beneath me felt gently heated. From up here, the entire floor stretches out in quiet order.
