Nesting in the Knits
I carefully placed my pot down on the wide wooden armrest of the sofa, making sure it stood steady on the smooth grain. Right beside it, a chunky knit throw blanket had gathered into deep, inviting folds. I stepped into one of the soft hollows, letting the thick woven yarn cradle my feet like a bed of dry moss. Tucking my legs beneath me, I smoothed down the soft fringe around my spot. From here in the warm dimness, I can watch over my yellow blooms while the whole quiet room drifts off to sleep.
