Tangle with the Cotton Serpent
A long, striped cotton sock was dangling off the edge of the laundry basket like a lurking adversary! My leaf gave a sharp, battle-ready twitch. Letting out an eager chirp, I charged in and tackled the drooping toe, locking both arms around the heavy ribbed fabric. I tugged with all my might, leaning backward until my heels dug into the wooden floorboards. With a soft thump, the entire sock slipped free and coiled over me in a harmless heap! I wriggled my head out through the knitted cuff and stomped in triumph on the conquered bundle.
