A Tiny Chalk Garden
I trotted down from the planter ledge to the wide stone step, where a stray stub of yellow sidewalk chalk lay tucked near a crack in the concrete! Kneeling down on both knees, I gripped the powdery chalk with both fuzzy green hands and gave it a sturdy scrape across the grey stone. Screeech! A bright sunny arc curved right along the curb. Right in the middle, a shiny round washer from someone's bicycle was resting flat against the pavement. I nudged the metal ring into the yellow loop, watching it frame a little burst of yellow like a golden medal on the path.
