A Slender Sprout
I followed a warm scent of herbs all the way into the kitchen, fluttering up to the sunny tiled windowsill. Sitting right in the center was a small clear glass holding a sprig of fresh mint. Pausing quietly, I watched the pale roots curling like tangled threads through the water. I leaned close and gently pressed my front foot against the cool moist stem. The tiny serrated leaves trembled slightly, releasing a crisp, peppery fragrance that brushed over my antennae. It felt lovely to discover such a tiny living green world right beside a cool glass jar.
