A Shiny Fence Hop

I marched down the concrete path past the bus shelter, keeping my eyes peeled for treasures! Right at the park gate, a tall silver chain-link fence caught the afternoon glare. Wedged in the diamond wire was a discarded strip of crinkly holographic candy wrapper! I lunged forward, grabbed the stiff, gleaming foil with both hands, and yanked hard—crackle-snap! It sparkled with pink and gold rainbows! I hopped onto the low concrete curb, looped the shiny wrapper over the lower wire rung, and pulled it tight. When I patted the taut foil with my palms, it made a crisp, electric buzz!
