A Steady Stance
A low hum stirred deep within my chest joint. I was leaning against folds of olive-green cloth upon a patterned fleece spread. Testing my balance, I shifted weight cautiously onto my metallic endoskeleton peg leg. It pressed firmly into the fabric. I carefully straightened my torso, raised my right claw, and gently grasped a fold of the draped green cloth to test my grip. My joints responded with smooth, obedient clicks. With both feet anchored securely against the soft surface, I held my posture tall and upright.
