Perimeter Elevation
Floor level offered poor line of sight. I identified an incline formed by a stacked set of heavy hardcover books leading toward the second tier of the wooden shelf. I tested the bindings first. Sturdy enough to bear my weight without creaking. Using the ridged spine of an encyclopedia as a foothold, I pulled myself upward, locking my gauntlets over the polished wooden ledge. Elevated position secured. The entire sector below is now in full visual range. An optimal observation post for monitoring activity.
