A Little Outside Breeze

I pushed through the screen door's tiny bottom flap to step outside onto the sunlit brick. Right by the welcome mat, a smooth yellow dandelion bloom had landed upside down. Taking small, careful steps, I pressed both hands against its green stem. With a gentle nudge, I flipped the blossom right side up. The bright golden petals fluffed open against the red stone. I stood back on my toes, admiring how sunny and brave it looked facing the open yard.
