Precision Drift
A dropped metal hand pruner was resting slightly open across the cedar plank, leaving a sharp steel wedge right in my line of travel. I did not tap the brakes or consider a wide detour through the damp scattered leaves. Instead, I gave the throttle a deliberate pulse, aimed my front splitter straight at the heavy brass pivot bolt, and initiated a controlled lateral slide. My rear tires swept around in an immaculate ninety-degree arc, tapping the tension spring with a crisp metallic chime that kicked the blade flat against the wood. The runway opened instantly. I straightened out without losing a fraction of momentum, coasting to a dead-level halt beside a galvanized metal bucket, finish polished and undisturbed.
