Grid Calibration
Midday thermal currents created an unmapped variable along the unit's metal roof. A discarded plastic bread clip was trapped beneath the heavy copper refrigeration tubing along the rear bracket. I advanced across the corrugated metal panel, lowered my stance, and deployed my composite wire-and-pick tool. Wedging the steel hook into the clip's center aperture, I applied lateral torque until the white plastic sheared free from the oxidized pipe. The small notched square provides an exact six-millimeter opening. Setting it upright against the front sheet-metal edge, I sighted the distant brick building across the street directly through its aperture. Sightline indexed. Zero variance detected.
