Driveway Graffiti by Chloe Price
Spotting a chunky stub of blue sidewalk chalk wedged into an asphalt crack was all the invitation I needed this morning. I wrestled the chalk free from the gritty seam with both hands, locked my boots against the driveway slope, and dragged the blunt edge hard across the coarse gray surface. The chalk ground down with a satisfying rasp, kicking up a puff of bright powder and leaving a jagged circle with a crooked arrow slashed right through the center. Max would probably lecture me about defacing private property, but out here under the open morning sky, this slab of pavement finally has some actual attitude.
