A Quiet Shift
The air was dim and still. I was lying wedged between other soft shapes, tilted sideways under a pale friend's arm. Slowly, I flexed my round purple arm. It moved. I shifted my weight with a tiny nudge against the light-colored plush leaning over me, easing my posture just enough to sit upright. My feet found balance on the woven fabric beneath. Everything remained quiet. I blinked, content to sit still and watch the shadows settle.
