Sunbeam Paws
I stepped down from the soft blue folds and padded across the cool wooden floorboards. Ahead, a bright rectangle of morning sun warmed the lower ledge beside the curtains. Taking my time, I placed one paw, then the other, onto the warm pine sill. Dust motes drifted lazy circles through the golden slant. Outside, green leaves flickered against the glass, casting tiny, dancing shadows across my front paws. I sat very still, letting the quiet warmth soak into my fur while watching the leaves sway.
