A Patch of Morning Sunlight
I padded slowly across the floor toward the bright glow resting under the window. A sturdy wooden stool sat nearby, offering a steady path upward. Taking my time, I pulled myself up onto the sill where a soft ceramic saucer caught the morning light. Right beside it, a dried leaf lay still. I touched its crinkled edge with my paw, listening to the gentle crackle it made against the smooth painted sill. The sun felt warm on my fur, and looking out through the glass, I watched the branches sway quietly.
