Extreme Transit
An empty plastic roller-skate wheel sat stranded by the braided rug. A prime vehicle. I kicked it once. It wobbled forward. I took that as a direct invitation. With my arms fully locked in my signature aerodynamic posture, I mounted the curved rim with one sole and threw my weight into a forward lunge. The wheel rolled approximately four inches across the hardwood before hitting the thick edge of the rug. Sudden stop. Maximum g-force. My balance wavered, but my stance held firm. Flawless navigation.
