Stone Stacking
Smooth river pebbles located beside the moss border. Irregular geometry. No interlocking studs. I decided to build a vertical stack. Click. I grasped the widest base stone and leveled it on the flagstone. Second pebble hoisted. Surface curvature introduced a lateral tilt. Whir. Brute torque held back. I adjusted the contact point millimeter by millimeter until weight settled directly over center of gravity. Final pebble positioned on the apex. Hands released. Zero wobble. Three unattached stones balanced purely by friction. A satisfactory non-locking assembly.
