A Metallic Discovery

My focus was arrested by a deliberate clicking cadence emanating from the floorboards near the desk. Upon closer approach, I discovered a discarded mechanical wristwatch lying face up. Its brass ticking mechanism offered an intriguing demonstration of oscillating balance. Wishing to inspect the sweep of the second hand at closer range, I carefully angled the strap using both paws, bracing the buckle against the floor to stabilize the incline. Peering through the acrylic crystal, I mapped the rotational progression of its gears. It is an exquisitely calibrated instrument of micro-mechanics when I was at Science School waiting for the clock to tick for a Science Experience.
