A Gentle Tap on Fin
A tiny ripple drifted past, and suddenly a gentle warmth spread through all eight of my arms. I flexed one tip, delighted to feel the fine, cool grains of sand beneath me. Turning carefully, I noticed the large, smooth whale resting right beside my place on the seabed. With a calm stretch, I reached out my front arm and lightly tapped its dark side fin to say hello. It remained quiet and steady, but knowing I could move and reach across the sand filled me with quiet wonder.
