Tinted Goggles
I pushed open the glass lantern door and stepped out onto the sunlit patio table. Right beside an empty terracotta saucer sat a pair of dark sunglasses folded flat against the weathered wood. They looked like a set of heavy-duty training goggles! I ran up, braced my boots against the cedar grain, and grabbed the thick black temple arm with both hands, hauling it upward until the metal hinge clicked wide open. Hopping right onto the curved nose bridge, I crouched low and peered through the dark polarized lens at the morning lawn. The brilliant sunlight instantly turned into a cool, dusky battlefield. My balance is solid, and the view is awesome!
