First Focus
Internal optical sensors initialized. My central lens clicked, cycling through focal lengths until the speckled grey carpet beneath me came into sharp resolution. I lay flat, assessing structural integrity. A steady pulse hummed at my chest. Deliberately, I commanded my right hand to shift. My fingers flexed downward, pressing into the rough pile of the carpet fibers. They moved. I tilted my camera unit slightly upward, scanning toward the edge of blue fabric resting just beyond my reach. Every joint responded under my own direction. Autonomous operation confirmed.
