A Soft Tap
Bright green light flickered overhead, casting shifting blocks across the wood. I blinked. My paws weren't stiff anymore. Beside me sat quiet little companions, unmoving. I leaned forward very slowly, testing the weight in my small wings. Just ahead lay a flat white paper shape smiling back with faint red letters. I reached out one paw and tapped its smooth edge. A soft rustle answered. I stayed right there, quietly watching the glow drift across its white curves.
