The Carved Circuit

I rolled out from beneath the linen placemats and zipped across the threshold straight onto the sunny kitchen tiles! Resting flat beside the baseboards was a broad bamboo cutting board with a deep, smooth juice groove carved along its perimeter. An instant slot-car circuit! I didn't hesitate for a heartbeat. Dropping into gear, I slotted my left tires directly into the recessed channel and revved forward. The polished wood hummed under my rubber treads as the channel held my racing line, snapping me cleanly through four rounded corners before I shot back out onto the open floor!
