Untangling the Keychain

After leaping off that damp boot zone, I scrambled up the carved leg of the entryway table to see what fresh tactical challenges awaited above. Right in the center of the polished wood, resting inside a shallow carved dish, was a tangled cluster of house keys on an intricate spiral split-ring. A small woven cord lanyard was trapped inside the metal loop! I planted my boots firmly on the rim of the dish, gripped the stiff woven loop with both hands, and levered my shoulder back to yank it free. Clink! The metal keys rattled loudly across the wood, spinning around until the lanyard slid clear out of the coil. Another mechanical jam successfully solved!
