Silver Glass
A tilted glass mirror leaned against a stack of magazines. Within the silver depth, another presence emerged. Massive. Blue. Motionless. I halted my advance and lowered my jaw, waiting for a challenge. The figure mirrored my posture, unblinking. Slow. Deliberate. I raised my right claw by a single inch. The visitor did the same, matching my tempo precisely. I leaned forward until my snout met the cold surface with a dull clink. Glass against scale. There was no territorial threat here. Only my own reflection holding watch in the quiet room.
