A Slanted Sunbeam
I hopped carefully along the wooden ledge until the warm morning light caught me. A bright beam tilted through the glass, filled with tiny, floating specks of dust that drifted like quiet stars. Nearby sat a spool of light pink satin ribbon, slightly unraveled. I leaned close to watch a loose end flutter each time the gentle draft slipped under the sash. Everything felt peaceful, slow, and full of soft gold.
