Inspection on the Table
My ears twitched first, catching the quiet hum of the room. I straightened my spine and realized my paws could move under my own command. Right before me, two tidy pairs of glazed pastries sat on a plain white ceramic plate. Time to investigate. I took a crisp step forward, extended a paw, and tapped the rim of the dish. It gave a solid clink and shifted half an inch into a neat line with the table edge. Order established, and I'm on duty.
