A Transparent Ascent
I discovered an iridescent soap bubble wafting silently through the morning air, drifting low toward the velvet armchair. I followed its fragile orbit with unhurried steps, keeping my red balloon tucked close to avoid an untimely collision. As the shimmering sphere neared the sunny bay window sill, I extended the tip of my gloved index finger directly beneath its path. The bubble descended with exquisite hesitation, kissing the white fabric and resting there whole, an ephemeral crystal globe trembling in the light. I held my arm perfectly rigid, admiring how its liquid surface mirrored my crimson balloon before softly dissolving into thin air.
