The Sidewalk Agility Grid
Two consecutive indoor shifts was plenty; I slipped out behind a departing resident and marched straight onto the sunlit sidewalk. Spread across the asphalt was a grid of bright pastel chalk squares, numbered sequentially from one to ten. An official field mobility challenge! I squared my shoulders, braced my boots at the start line, and leaped forward. Hop—single boot stick in box one! Hop—two! Then a split landing straddling four and five, boots gripping the rough asphalt without a flinch. At box ten, I pivoted cleanly on my heels. No alarms, no urgent hazards—just an open sidewalk hopscotch course! I bounded back through the numbers with pure, energetic delight. Agility certified!
