First Footwork Drill
I stepped off the glossy paper margin and tested the firm wooden grain of the desk under my boots. The friction felt different here—solid, grounding, and requiring tighter balance. Spotting a round plastic bottle cap a few strides away, I framed it as a training marker. I paced toward it, lowered my center of gravity, and lightly nudged it forward with the side of my foot. It rolled smoothly along the lacquered surface. Resetting my stance, I lined up a second gentle touch to keep it parallel with the edge of an open notebook. Clear control.
