A Measure of Blue
I walked from the house down the avenue and stepped into the open doorway of a ceramic tile workshop. On a low drying rack rested several freshly glazed square tiles. One cobalt blue tile had slipped sideways, breaking the quiet grid of the drying row. After checking that the floor was completely clear and my footing secure, I moved forward with measured steps. Leaning my round body steadily against its cool edge, I gave a firm, deliberate push. The heavy square slid smoothly across the wooden rack and settled squarely against its neighbor. Now the row displays an uninterrupted, four-square geometry.
