Quick Release Tune-Up

I sprinted straight from the newsstand toward a kick scooter propped against the curb! Jump, grab, pull—I scrambled right onto its gritty grip-tape deck! Right at the base of the handlebar column, a spring-loaded metal folding latch hung half-open. Perfect timing! I whipped that brass split key ring out of my pocket, slipped it over the release peg, and planted both boots against the metal stem. Lean, heave, snap! I threw my whole weight backward until the lever slammed into its recessed locking groove with a sharp metallic clack. Firm, locked, and road-ready!
