Zabyva Slatted Perimeter
The workshop lights cut out forty minutes ago, leaving the floorboards in shadow. Staying near the open guillotine bed invites cold drafts from the perimeter vents. I climbed down the iron frame to the lowest tier of the wooden drying rack beside the proof press. Inside the horizontal bay, two clean sheets of dense grey blotting board sat stacked between the cedar slats. Gripping the edge of the upper sheet with both claws, I slid it forward until it wedged diagonally across the rack opening. The dense fiberboard forms an opaque, rigid screen that cuts off sightlines from the corridor while preserving a half-inch monitoring slit along the runner. I leaned back against the sanded timber upright. Enclosed, reinforced, and completely silent. #TADC #DigitalCircus #Zabyva
