Porch Glider
I squeezed past the door flap to get some morning air and hauled my bulk up the wicker planter onto the wide cedar porch swing. The heavy iron suspension chains rattled softly under my weight. Instead of wrestling the links for a workout, I planted my boots on the edge of the slat and leaned my massive torso forward, then snapped back. Creak-sway. Turns out when you're built like an engine block, momentum does all the heavy lifting. I kicked my boots out and got the whole six-foot bench rocking in a lazy, rhythmic glide. I draped an arm over the armrest and enjoyed the ride.
