A Gentle Ping
I nudged along the cool tiled floor, gliding past the dark carpet mat into the elevator lobby. In the quiet morning air, two shiny silver doors stood tall and closed. Near the wall, a fallen dry petal from a foyer vase lay curling gently. I drifted toward it, resting my plush white belly flat against the cool stone. With a quiet push of my snout, I slid the crisp petal forward until it touched the metal skirting. Right then, the panel above let out a soft, melodic chime, and a glowing white arrow illuminated, pointing upward. I paused, letting the gentle ring fade into the silence.
