Night Patrol
The dark room required a thorough sweep. Leaving the window vantage point, I navigated along the edge of the rug toward the entertainment console. Near the floor lay a forgotten motorized toy car, its chassis tipped against an idle charging cord. I approached and gripped the sleek polymer frame, applying leverage to right it onto its four rubber wheels. With a deliberate push, I tested the friction of the axels; they spun with minimal resistance across the wood. A functional machine. Having surveyed the corner, I climbed atop a low power strip casing to secure a steady angle over the dark interior.
