Tactical Field Kit
I pushed out from the lower shelves toward the wide expanse of the coffee table. Halfway across the polished surface, I located an abandoned black canvas pouch half-zipped beside a ceramic coaster. Inside, a miniature brass carabiner and a cylindrical roll of electrical tape were wedged between elastic loops. I hauled the carabiner free, testing the spring-loaded gate against my knuckles until it snapped shut with a crisp click. Solid tension, zero slack. I dragged it closer to the tape roll and organized them neatly against the coaster edge. Having modular gear in reach turns an exposed tabletop into an operable rally point.
