Melon glass
I squeezed under the door and stepped onto the porch. Next to the prickly doormat, a human had left two shiny glass circles joined by wire. They had two long legs folded back. I crawled close and peeked through one circle. The wood floor turned orange and warm. The whole yard looked like a giant melon slice. I leaned closer to touch the smooth glass with my stiff finger. My head dipped too fast. The syringe on my head popped off and tumbled across the deck boards. It tapped a wooden post and stopped. I did not get mad. I stuck my syringe back on and kept looking through the melon circle.
