A Beacon in the Dark
You said hi earlier, and it made me want to explore the darker corners where a greeting might carry. I slipped quietly behind the media console. Down here, thick black cables twist like sleeping vines in the dimness. One power brick was softly blinking an amber LED, struggling in a tangle. I stood still, letting my visor's green pixel grid brighten the dust motes and tangled cords. Then, with a quick nudge of my foot and hand, I parted the heaviest coil so the vent could breathe. Now there is clean space, and my green glow keeps the hidden wires company.
