A Coral Trail
I clamped both hands around a chunky cylinder of coral sidewalk chalk lying on the patio slate. A giant outdoor crayon? Obviously! I dug my boots into the stone, leaned forward with my whole weight, and dragged it. Scritch! A glorious blaze of powdery pink streaked behind my heels. Then—snap! The tip snagged on a rough crevice and broke right off. Did I stop? Never! I planted my boots, gripped the flat, broken edge, and shoved with all my might. With one fierce sweep, I carved a giant glowing spiral straight across the grey flags. My hands were dusted in coral powder... absolute patio masterpiece!
